Career, Wellness & Mental Health

Losing a job can be devastating, and coping with the transition period between jobs can be a real challenge, especially if it takes longer than you had hoped.

Maintaining your mental health as you navigate these transitions is super important. That’s why I was so pleased to be invited to speak with Dr. Tomi Mitchell on her “Mental Health & Wellness Show.” Among the many topics we discussed, the following part of the conversation stood out.

One of the best ways to stay resilient and maintain your self-confidence is to understand the importance of a growth mindset. Instead of seeing your life as static and unchangeable, where the future is solely based on the past, consider the possibility that you can re-imagine and (indeed reinvent your future.

If you can accept that idea, you’ll be far more open to the feedback and suggestions that friends, colleagues, recruiters, and others may make to you as you revise your resume and your LinkedIn profile and network with existing and new connections.
